Components and enhancements

Any solution starts with two sensors (IP68) and a process unit. Cooling or ceramic shield away extreme heat. The process unit can be placed at a distance of up to 100 meters. Specific mill needs are met by adding further sensor pairs or third-party sensors – also to deliver further information, such as cold values or center positions.

*The measurement result at a defined measuring point has to be determined by a sensor pair.

Dynamic configuration

Due to its modular arrangement, the wtl series fits perfectly into your production line. The small size of the sensors enables positioning even in narrow shop floor layouts. The number of sensor pairs used depends on the tasks to be performed. Even if your information needs change over time, your solution from the wtl series can grow with them by adding further sensor pairs or additional sensors.

Smart monitoring

Smart monitoring is essential for smart maintenance processes or foreseeing potential downtimes in  your production. With the Watchdog Package status information can be transmitted via WebSockets to the person in charge, ERP system or any other third party application. It can deliver the status of single sensors, the whole solution and even the running services. An enhanced dashboard for smart monitoring offers multiple surveillance functions.

Communication

The wtl series communicates via Modbus/TCP with the PLC. The additional COM package offers more interfaces: via TCP/IP, REST or MQTT information can be delivered further on to several recipients on multiple levels, in the plant and also beyond.

Trigger modes

Plant layouts, processes and control cycles are highly individual. To best meet your needs the wtl series offers different trigger options to start gauging. You can set up signal triggering to start a measurement – either by PLC, IT or self-triggered in a fixed time cycle. Or you can decide for non-triggered, continuous measurement of the width, thickness or length of your products
