The scout series is mecorad’s radar-based precise detector series for challenging environments in the metal and steel industry. It detects objects with a highly flexible distance in a range from 200 mm up to 5000 mm of the sensor reliably and fast in real-time – whether you are working with red-hot or cold metal, whether fog, dirt or cooling water are obstructing the view.
The scout series continuously delivers precise information about objects in the detected field directly to the PLC via Modbus/TCP interface or relay contact.
Even under conditions of dirt, dust, extreme heat, thermal radiance or aerosols, the scout series works accurately and with low maintenance. It is protected according to IP68 rating and can be cooled or sealed off from heat effectively.
Due to its compact size, the scout series fits perfectly even in tight production lines. The sensor can be fixed to existing installations. Four drillings on the back and two drillings on the base of the housing support easy installation.
